Mustache March

IS FINALLY OVER!
And I think Aaron was more happy than I was to have that thing off his face.

Every time March rolls around the guys in the military will grow a mustache.  This is the first time Aaron has actually gone the whole month with out shaving it.  In the past it always bothered him too much, but this year he stuck it out and the first thing he said to me when he walked in the door was "I'm shaving this thing off today".

I have to say, I really didn't mind the mustache too much, but now that it is gone.......hmmmm....he's a handsome man.  And of coarse, Isaac popped in the picture just as I was taking it.  He's good at that.

"I'm A Monkey"

Every time we get on the Subway, Emmaline reaches up for the handles and smiles a big one.  My friend took this picture of her and it captures her joy.  She'll just hang there for as long as I let her, but my arms get too tired trying to balance myself (since she is hogging the handles) while she swings happily.

The Hobbit

The little girls were in bed when Aaron pulled out our leather bound "The Hobbit" and started reading it to Isaac.  Oh the anticipation Isaac has had for this moment.  Aaron's mom introduced this book to him when he was a boy and now Aaron has decided it was time to share it with his son.  I enjoyed doing the dishes and taking a few snap shots while watching this take place.

Gotta love the different positions an 8yr. old boy will make when listening intently.

He didn't have any idea I was even taking these pictures....I think he had left this world for Middle Earth

I must be famous...or it's my nose

This is the second time since being here that someone has come up to me and wanted a picture of me with them.  The first time I was in a grocery store and a woman walked up to me and wanted my picture taken with her and I thought...."okay that was really weird".  This time I was with my Uncle and Aunt in Seoul eating at a restaraunt when a young couple walked up to me.  The man's English was very broken, but he held up their camera and gestured for me to take a picture, so I'm thinking...."Okay, they want me to take 'their' picture....Sure!"  So I go to take their camera from them and he pulled back and said, "You....me....(showed me the camera)....together!"  Inside I was thinking "NO WAY....this is cracking me up", but I smiled and politely nodded my head.  This time, the couple wanted my kids in it with me and  as you can see, Emmaline wasn't too thrilled about the idea, but Molly and Isaac didn't seem to mind at all.  Molly won't admit it, but she loves the attention she gets here.  Thankfully Kurt snapped a shot with his camera and I thought.....well... while we're at it, I might as well get one with my camera too(which didn't turn out). Again, I was trying my best to not laugh, but it was so FUNNY!  I was laughing so hard with my Uncle about this after it was all over and he said, "maybe you get your picture taken because you have big eyes".  I said, "No....I don't really have big eyes, but I do have a big nose."  He laughed and said, "Actually, a lot of Koreans like big noses."  So there you have it....I knew I would like my nose someday.

What a blessing!

A couple of weeks ago we stayed with my uncle and aunt for a couple of days in Seoul.  Aaron was able to be there for a few hours, but had to be back for work.  It was so fun to have a "sleepover" as my kids called it.  They still talk about staying there and how much they love Aunt Becky and Uncle Kurt.  They showed my kids great love and I love them for that.  The first night we played scum and talked until way too late!  The next day we woke up to delicious waffles and strawberries, then headed off for the fish market and some shopping.  Late afternoon we returned and again played scum and stayed up late visiting. (I think I was missing being able to talk to my parents)  It was a great trip and it boosted my spirits.  They only have another month left on their mission and I feel so fortunate to have crossed paths.  What a blessing!

This fish market was HUGE!  Probably the size of two costco's.

Molly didn't want to get too close, because these little octopus were still moving and Emmaline would have nothing to do with them.  Isaac would say "cool" but grimace at the same time.

At this point Isaac was starting to feel a little sick, it was quite 'fishy' smelling, but come on.....sting rays?WAY COOL! I still don't think I'd want to eat them though!

Every once in a while Emmaline would just reach out and say "Gamma" to Aunt Becky and she so willingly would hold her.  She can get quite heavy when you're walking on and off the subways, but she is just too irresistable.

Riding on the subway through Seoul.  I'm starting to become quite comfortable with the whole system and so is Emmaline....as you can see.  SO SWEET, but my arms were KILLING me!  As for Isaac.....he LOVES to pull faces!

Sometimes When Daddy Gets Home Late

the kids and I will eat pizza, pop some corn and watch a movie.  Chronicles of Narnia was the choice for the night.  Emmaline lasted until the popcorn was gone, but it still gave me a chance to sit and enjoy these 'moments'.
